World’s largest solar bridge project gets underway. Blackfriars bridge was built in 1886 and spans the Thames in London.
“Work on the world’s largest solar bridge has started in central London.  The new solar roof spanning Blackfriars Railway Bridge above the River Thames will cover more than 6,000 square meters when finished, according to developers.
Over 4,400 individual photovoltaic panels are expected to produce around 900,000 kilowatt hours of electricity every year, providing the station with half of its energy needs, according to Solar Century, the UK company installing the solar roof.”

After the Children’s Museum

The museum was fun and each exhibition was entertaining and different, but t the same time it felt a little empty and there was no real flow between the exhibitions, one would only rely on the map to find anything, I did enjoy the small burst of going “green” exhibitions, they were fun and interactive and i could use similar interactive system for my museum. Each exhibition looked fun for children however i think it could have better design or activities for adults who do not need to hold their kids hand at all times. All things considered it was interesting, and informational for designing something similar.

Boston Children’s Museum

From outside Children’s museum rests on the bank of the river and overlook downtown boston, its beautiful and peaceful with the board walk and benches outside for families to sit and relax. Building is a glass structure with food place outside in the shape of a big milk bottle, fun and exciting for children and adults. Once you enter though regular automatic glass doors you get right into a line for ticket. From there you can see into some exhibitions and a huge jungle jim which made even me excited. The ticket counter is basic and simple, nothing fun, then you receive your map and other pamphlets and get a stamp on your hand. and enter the museum which is filled with bright colorful signs and bare and modern architecture.

USS Constitution Museum, following a person…

I came to the museum with a friend and at one of the exhibition rooms I sat down in a hammock and allowed her to freely explore. This particular room tried to show how inside of a cabin would look like, and creatively showed what the crew members would eat on the ship. First of all my subject was forced to come to this museum, she entered the room skeptically observing that the floors were soft and that the celling was dropped down to represent the boat, she then slowly proceed to look at everything from far but then she got interested by an oven and started to play with the fake food they had for kids and adults to touch and play with. She even called me over to explain what she quickly learned and took at a while to stay there. Then she proceeded to walk along other exhibition but now with a new interest and energy.

entrence of USS Constitution Museum

When I walk toward the museum, I saw the big ship and brick houses, it was exciting. Once you enter the museum area you have to walk all the way across a large space, leaving the ship behind you to enter the museum building, which looks like a regular building except for a large sign above doors that can be seen from entrance gates. Everything seems a little bare and there are no real directions to what a person should go to first. The museum is free to public, so I there was no line or a reason to stop once entered the museum, they also had no booklets or maps to take. The museum is not very organized but the floor plan was simple enough to follow.
